Solution-A vial
The reagent identified as Solution-A in the manual.
10 ppm standard vial
The visual comparison reference supplied with the kit.
Syringes
Separate 2 mL and 5 mL syringes for measured dosing.

Hand protection supplied for the testing procedure.

Wear the supplied gloves
Put on the nitrile gloves before handling the sample, vials, syringes or Solution-A.

Select a sample vial
Take one clean test-sample vial from the CertiFuel kit.
- 03
Add 2 mL of diesel
Use the 2 mL syringe to transfer 2 mL of the diesel test sample into the sample vial.

Add 5 mL of Solution-A
Use the 5 mL syringe to add 5 mL of Solution-A to the same sample vial.

Cap and shake the vial
Secure the cap and shake the vial for approximately 10 to 20 seconds.

Allow the reaction to develop
Place the sample vial aside and wait for 10 minutes before comparing the colour.

Check for a lighter pink colour
A pink colour lighter than the standard vial indicates sulphur content above 10 ppm, according to the supplied visual-method instruction manual.

Check for an equal or deeper pink colour
A pink colour equal to or higher than the standard vial indicates sulphur content below 10 ppm, according to the supplied visual-method instruction manual.
Read the visual result
Compare the developed sample with the supplied 10 ppm standard
Make the comparison only after the documented 10-minute development period. Use the reference vial and viewing conditions consistently.
Lighter pink than the standard
Indicates more than 10 ppm sulphur
