Overview
Match the analysis to the material and market
A contaminant panel should identify the food, target analytes and requirement being assessed. Different commodities and markets may use different maximum limits, residue definitions and reporting bases.
Chem-Tech reviews the scope before analysis. The relevant matrix, method and reporting limit must be suitable for the stated question; a broad panel name alone is insufficient.

Contaminant context
Products, matrices and residue requirements
Foods, ingredients and agricultural commodities
Selected metals and pesticide residues
Matrix-specific preparation and reporting requirements
Programme guidance
Metals and residues are separate scopes
Selected metal analysis
Discuss the target metals, product matrix and applicable limit. Confirm whether the requirement concerns total content or a particular chemical form.
Pesticide residue analysis
Agree the pesticide list, residue definitions and reporting limits for the commodity and destination.
Sampling and preparation
Define the lot and sampling approach, edible portion or whole-product basis, and handling requirements.
Testing scope
Testing arrangements and accredited scope
The existing Chem-Tech service literature identifies pesticide residue analysis as outsourced to a partner laboratory. Confirm the performing laboratory, current arrangements, method, accredited scope and reporting responsibility in the quotation.
Do not assume every parameter is covered by Chem-Tech's own NABL scope or that a partner's accreditation transfers to Chem-Tech. Review the relevant scope for the material, parameter, method and laboratory location.
Programme guidance
Interpret the report correctly
Compare the result with the current product-specific requirement and reporting basis. Not detected means below the method's reporting threshold for the tested analyte; it does not prove the absence of all residues.
For export or buyer requirements, provide the destination, specification, analyte list and required reporting limits. An Indian limit does not automatically satisfy another market or buyer.

Before dispatch
Sample-submission guidance
- Use a clean, secure and appropriately labelled container; agree sterile portions for microbiology.
- Provide the product name, ingredients, batch or lot, processing state, packaging and storage requirements.
- Share the target market, applicable product specification and testing objective. Confirm quantity, sample units and transport conditions before dispatch.
Technical output
Reporting and interpretation
Review results against the agreed product specification, sampling plan, batch identity and method. A report applies to the submitted sample and agreed scope; it does not certify every batch or guarantee complete food safety.
